Fable Bedtime

Privacy Policy

Effective July 23, 2026

The short version: Fable collects no data. None. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no servers. Everything about your family stays on your device โ€” we couldn't read it if we wanted to, and we designed it that way on purpose.

What we collect

Nothing. Fable has no server component and makes no network calls of its own. The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs, no trackers, and no third-party code that phones home. We never see your child's name, your stories, or anything else you enter.

Where your data lives

Child profiles and the stories you create are stored only in the app's local database on your device. They are never uploaded, synced, or backed up by us. If your device backups are enabled (iCloud or your computer), Apple's standard backup handling applies โ€” that is between you and Apple. Deleting the app deletes all of its data.

How stories are generated

Stories are generated on your device using Apple Intelligence (Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework). Prompts and stories are processed locally and are not sent to us or to any third party by Fable. When Apple Intelligence is unavailable, Fable uses its bundled, hand-written story library instead โ€” also entirely offline.

Purchases

The optional Fable+ subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, name, or address. The app stores only Apple's local entitlement that says whether Fable+ is active. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

Fable is operated by a parent or guardian reading with their child. We collect no personal information from anyone, adult or child. Because Fable never sends or collects your family's data, there is nothing for us to store, share, or sell.

Changes to this policy

If Fable's privacy practices ever change, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect. Given the app's design โ€” no servers, no collection โ€” we expect this page to stay boring.
